Missing AirFrance flight!

Posted on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:01 pm

So depressing to read about the missing AirFrance flight news. To get lost on a land is different from getting lost in a no-man’s world. Getting off the atmosphere’s edge that is above the vast Atlantic ocean! I just cannot imagine the scene that could have happened.

I know there have been many disasters – natural, human-error and on the lead are the violent terrorist activities going around the world. But this disaster is so pathetic involving various factors – no reports to transmit, a wind calamity involving dense turbulence, high in the sky, trapped into the rough, big ocean! On the top, can you imagine the claustrophobia that could have impacted each passenger!

Did they have enough time to think where the disaster is heading to? What did the Captain tell them lastly? Did it fire already before diving into the ocean? Too many questions and I am sure researchers will have more related questions. I read the news originally from BBC but I am seeing a lot of technical info on CNN. Trade winds between North & South hemisphere – will this become another zone to refrain from flying/cruising like the ‘Bermuda Triangle’? Sure to have answers from experts down the line.

NASA

NASA is celebrating its 50th year anniversary and thats why you see google image transforming today. I love Google for that matter; I was told Google has a separate team to look into this image transformation! Check this out – Google Logos. Anyway talking of NASA, I simply love their exploration work. The Atlantis space ship and the shuttles to cater its needs are simply amazing to me. The Astronomy picture of the day is another interesting item where common man gets to know about the daily work of the astronauts & observatory stations. I would like to show some pictures of Meteor Crater that I visited recently in Winslow(near Flagstaff) Arizona. NASA scientists use this site for their launches, etc.

Dry heat Vs humidity

I wish I was in Chennai. You know why. I am so used to the humid weather (that’s why I am waiting to see Florida ;) . Chennai being coastal & my mom’s place too very close to the sea is something that I really miss. This dry heat from the striking sun kills me every summer but you know it always feels not as bad as the first summer here.
